New Expressions
Pamela Fletcher is an award-winning painter and printmaker, and Lafayette resident. Ms. Fletcher practiced law in the Bay Area for many years before becoming an artist. As an attorney she dealt with logic, reason, and the precise use of language. Art allows her to communicate nonverbally using a new language – color, line, and other artistic tools. Although as an artist she continues to be disciplined, hard-working, and as creative as she was while practicing law, now she can embrace ambiguity and mystery, failure, and experimentation.
Ms. Fletcher uses oil, acrylic, and other media in her painting. Most recently, she has intensively explored narrative and abstraction in her painting. Her work was selected for the de Young Open and hung in the de Young Museum in San Francisco last fall. Recently her painting hung in the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento in connection with the Crocker Art Auction.
