Chickens

The City of Lafayette’s regulations governing the keeping of small farm animals like chickens and rabbits can be found here

The number of small farm animals and the location for the enclosure are a function of lot size and zoning district.  You can find out your lot size and zoning using the City’s interactive GIS.  Just type in your address and property information will pop up.

Zoning - The minimum setback requirements for the primary residence, which also apply to the structures housing small farm animals can be found here.
