Lamorinda 2023 Zero Waste Challenge
The City of Lafayette has partnered with Sustainable Contra Costa to launch a sustainability initiative in our city! This new initiative helps residents learn what steps they can take to reduce their carbon footprint while saving money and building a more resilient community.
Did you know that up to 40% of US greenhouse gas emissions each year come from five basic household activities (transportation, electricity, heating/cooling, food, and waste)? The Cleaner Contra Costa Challenge provides step-by-step actions and resources to reduce our carbon footprint in all five areas. Join your neighbors in taking action to save water, energy, and money together.
It is easy to get started: Create a free profile for your household on the Cleaner Contra Costa Challenge website. Next, select actions that will help reduce your impact! Sustainable Contra Costa has advice on next steps and costs, and can help answer questions.
