The City of Lafayette has teamed up with the nonprofit BC3 (Business Council on Climate Change) and other Bay Area cities and organizations to launch an exciting new solar, electric vehicle, and electric vehicle charging station group-purchasing (bulk buy) program for homeowners.

Called Bay Area SunShares, the program pools the buying power of individual participants to get more competitive pricing from solar companies, electric vehicle dealerships, and residential electric vehicle charging station manufacturers, making going green easier and more affordable than ever for residents.

SunShares pools the buying power of all 9 Bay Area counties to negotiate significant discounts on solar and storage. For a limited time each year (Sept. 1 - Nov. 30), SunShares offer significant discounts on solar and storage from pre-vetted installers that serve the entire Bay Area. They also offer educational resources and events to make it easier to understand your clean energy options, and decide what's best for you.

Note: While Bay Area SunShares is being offered to residents and employees living or working within the City of Lafayette, the City will not endorse the selected solar contractor(s) or electric vehicle manufacturer(s). Any resident who enters into the SunShares program does so in his/her personal capacity and his/her own risk and will expressly hold the SunShares partners including the City of Lafayette harmless from any liability associated with his/her decision to participate in this program for services for his/her personal project.
