Public Works is responsible for maintaining public streets, traffic maintenance, storm drains, and the downtown core area maintenance. If you would like to notify Public Works about a maintenance issue, please fill out this form.
Street maintenance services include minor street repairs, asphalt pathway repairs, and weed abatement within public streets and on City property. Private property and landscaping/trees, sidewalk, curb and gutter adjacent to private property are maintained by each property owner.
Traffic maintenance services include traffic signal maintenance, street and traffic sign installation and maintenance, traffic striping and pavement marking maintenance, and curb painting.
Storm drain maintenance provides for the maintenance and repair of the City's storm drainage system, including removal of drainage impediments, minor storm drain repairs, cleaning of storm drains and roadside ditches, storm damage cleanup, and minor mud slide cleanup. Many storm drains and drainage ditches that are located on private property are the maintenance responsibility of the individual property owners unless the City or County formally accepted an easement for the drainage. The easement is typically documented on a property title report.
The Core Area Maintenance District provides landscaping, street lighting, and general maintenance improvements to the downtown core commercial area. An assessment based on a benefit formula is levied against each parcel within the District for the maintenance provided.
