RECREATION PROGRAMS

The Parks, Trails & Recreation Department provides top-notch recreation programs and services based upon community needs and interests. Check out the wide variety of recreation programs

COMMUNITY CENTER

If you haven’t experienced the Lafayette Community Center, you’re missing quite a treat! Nestled in beautiful Burton Valley, the Center has become many things to many people. It’s a place where parents can enroll toddlers in safe, loving activities; where older adults can experience educational, healthful activities; where teens can attend drug/alcohol free events; and where people can choose the fitness program that suits them best, paint, train their dogs, sculpt, stretch, play guitar, dance, and have their chi strengthened. Lafayette Community Center customers wear sweats, tu-tus, T-shirts, cowboy boots, rollerblades and big smiles! Rooms at the Community Center are also available for rent.

MULTI-SPORT RINK

Adjacent to the Community Center is a 180’ x 80’ outdoor, multi-sport arena called The Rink. The Rink is enclosed by regulation size hockey boards and is striped for Hockey, Basketball, and Pickle Ball. The facility has covered spectator stands, bike racks and drinking fountains. A wide variety of recreational activities take place at ‘The Rink’, including camps, classes, and rentals.

PARKS

The City maintains six beautiful parks within the City limits and is home to the Lafayette Reservoir Recreational Area, which is maintained by EBMUD.  In addition, the City borders Briones Regional Park, which is maintained by the East Bay Regional Park District.

TRAILS

There are over 16 miles of hiking trails in Lafayette including 4 neighborhood trails, the Lafayette-Moraga Trail and those at the Reservoir and in Briones.  In addition, the Lamorinda Loop Trail winds for 17.5 miles continuously through all three communities.

EMPLOYMENT

Visit the Jobs page at http://www.lovelafayette.org/city-hall/components/jobs for current opportunities. Call or stop by the Community Center to inquire about any open positions.
