Put this on your calendar: on Saturday, October 5, the Twin Canyon Girl Scout Camp, adjacent to Briones Regional Park, will host a Hike to the Ridge to raise money for the preservation of the camp. For a $50 donation, hikers can ascend the rough Junior Trail through the camp and return via East Bay Regional Park Trails for a “Camp Brunch”. The one-to-two-hour hike is suitable for hikers twelve and over as the terrain is quite steep. The event opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 11 a.m. Register here and, by doing so, you will help preserve this important link in Lafayette’s open space buffer, which has been threatened with closure.
