Join the Lafayette Historical Society' Speaker Series: "Ships, Bombs, & Steel: A Photographic Journey of the Industry of the North Coast of Contra Costa County in the 20th Century"; Stuart Swiedler, creator of www.EastBayHillsProject.org shares his research of our area during the 20th Century. He is also a well regarded speaker on local history. You will witness the scheme to produce warships, the struggle of a community to fend off the import of bombs and other nuclear weapons, learn the new names of old towns, and the old names of new towns. Mr. Swiedler will show us how steel drove the economy during the era of bridge building and war.
This is also the Historical Society's Annual Meeting--dessert and beverages will be served.
