Energy efficiency policies and programs continue to be among the leading edge efforts of local governments to address climate change and community benefits. The Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN) invites local government policymakers and staff, as well as private sector developers and consultants, to attend this Regional Forum focused on highlight the policies and programs already in place in the region, and how these efforts came to succeed. Learn valuable tools and resources for implementing critical policies relating to energy efficiency in community design and how to leverage existing policies and apply best practices that support the needs of your community.
On Tuesday, November 18, join us and your colleagues to:
- Hear from William Eisenstein, the co-author of a report from the UC Berkeley Center for Resource Efficient Communities (CREC), on the general fund benefits to investment in enforcement of energy codes and investment in green building policy.
- Review and consider successful policies in green building, electric vehicle infrastructure, renewable energy, energy efficiency finance, water efficiency, and more.
- Learn about sustainability best practices and policy frameworks for local action
- Collaborate with local Bay Area climate leaders who will share the benefits and challenges of implementing cost-effective climate and energy policies within their communities
